The Welsh Dimension PDF Print E-mail

It is the aim of the College to promote a Welsh dimension, nurture a Welsh ethos and support education and culture through the medium of Welsh.

You will have the opportunity to continue your use of the Welsh language while entering the College, during your course and when preparing for the future

The College wishes to broaden its provision of Welsh-medium teaching, in response to demand. It is emphasised that coursework may be submitted, and examinations undertaken, in the Welsh language in several subjects.

While studying at Gorseinon, you will be able to take advantage of the excellent cultural, social and sporting resources offered by the College. You will also have the opportunity to do the following through the medium of Welsh:

  • Compete at the Urdd Eisteddfod (stage competitions, literature, craft and sport)
  • Residential courses, eg Nant Gwrtheyrn
  • Participate in television/radio programmes
  • Train in mentoring skills
  • Visits to live theatre productions
